Q: Cancer or just ulcer symptoms?
My boyfriend has been throwing up after eating for a few months. He went to the doctor, who diagnosed him with stomach ulcers. They gave him some medicine but he’s still throwing up,he doesn’t eat for a few days because he’s not hungry, and for the past couple days,he’s been coughing up black phlegm.According to him, when he went back to the doctor,he had a few more stomach ulcers and the doctor told him the more ulcers you have, the greater risk of them becoming cancer.
So my question is,are his symptoms normal stomach ulcer symptoms or something worse?
A: Be careful, and get a second opinion is my advice.
An ulcer was first suspected for my friend too and, unfortunately, further exams revealed something far worse.
The medecine they gave him will take time to act (about 8 weeks) if it is ulcer. And yes, stomach ulcers do have a devastating effect on the body when untreated (people used to die from them), and even worse if the stomach is leaking. Has the doctor verified that ? If not, it should be done, because it is quite dangerous.
Q: What are the symptoms of an stomach ulcer?
For a few years I have this burning pain in my upper abdomen just below my breast.Sometimes it is all the way across and sometimes it is just on the left side right below the ribs.I have had c scan, light ran down my throat,up the other way, with nothing found except acid reflux and a colon polyp.I have very bad acid indigestion at times worse then others.I went to the emergency room after I could not take the pain another day and he said it was ulcers. No test at all he did not even touch me,just told me it was ulcers.Never been told before by any other Dr. That I had any ulcers. But he says ulcers after seeing me for three minutes.Gave me some green stuff which helped some, but I still get this irritating burning pain and stomach bloating.Has anyone with ulcers have this same burning pain.
As I have said I have seen my Dr and had several test run.I still do not know for sure what this burning pain could be.In fact I have told three Dr about this and none have told me anything I can rely on since I am still wondering what it could be…This question is for anyone that has stomach ulcers and if they would tell me how one feels.
Yes when I did smoke seems when the pain was really bad but have now quit, three weeks now without a smoke. At times I thought it could be my lungs hurting from the smoke.I just dont no.I dont throw up or have any nausea.Just the burning and bloating.
Well I dont think I am dieing or I would be gone by now as I have suffered with this for several years now.And I am sure it is real.I usually dont go around and make up pain. The real thing is bad enough without making it up.
A: Yes, I had an ulcer for a long time. Mine was where the stomach emptied into the dueldenal (sp) the little curve at the base of your stomach before it goes into the small intestine.
I also had a tremedous time with Acid-Reflux that inflamed my esophagus so much it hurt me to even eat a cold peach. I went through all the test you did, and at the time was prescribed “propulsid”. I think it is off the market now. Tagamet was the miricle drug back when, but with a blood test I found out that I had H-Pilori, which about 90% of the population has. This one Dr.discovered this but it took the medical profession to fess up to the fact that H-Pilori was the cause. I was placed on an anti-biotic, with another drug, plus Zantac, and some “galvascone” anti-acid and was healed in about thirty days. I almost had to sleep standing up for a time as the reflux was unbearable. But the worse thing about acid reflux is the irritation of the esophagus. Asking for cancer when this happens without control..
Q: what are signs and symptoms of a stomach ulcer?
I do plan on going to the doctors but i have no heath care at the moment. I have applied to medicare and know it will be covered at a later date but it won’t help with prescriptions until i receive it. So i just want to know what the signs and symptoms are and if there is medication they give you for it or what….
A: Greetings, I myself have been fighting ulcers, they aren’t very fun. Here are some symptoms, Frequent heartburn, sudden belching, hot spots in your stomach (feels like someone’s branding your insides with a hot poker over and over in 1 spot or more) dark stools that smell very foul (dark stools are due to bleeding ulcers) dizziness (from lower blood count), you will feel hot (stomach acid getting into your blood stream), nausea, blood in your vomit, sever pain after eating high acid content foods or black pepper etc, low appetite and/or get full fast when eating, sudden and unexpected loss in weight, hurts worse when stomach is eating or hurts when trying to sleep.. There are ways you can treat and ultimately get rid of them. Milk is very bad for them because milk turns into lactic acid when it digests, acid is bad. hot peppers help with the bleeding, but the best things to take are Aloe Vera Gel with x3 concentrate mixed with Aloe Vera Gel, Papaya enzymes, they are alkaline which reduce acid levels also it’s an enzyme so it helps break down foods so your stomach wont produce as much acid, you can also try a Parasite Cleans, parasites can cause them and make them worse by flourishing in them and eating helpful bacteria in your GI track, the cleanse has really helped mine, in time will cure them. However follow directions on the parasite cleans and you should be alright, also be sure you have no negative reactions to any of the herbs in the cleans. Other things that help are oatmeal with added wheat germ, acidophiles will add extra organisms to help your intestines if they bother you… well hope this was helpful and I hope and pray you do not have ulcers because they aren’t any fun if they get very bad, it hospitalized me and I was down and out for several weeks in pain I wouldn’t wish on my greatest enemies. Doctors will prescribe things like Protonix to inhibit the proton acid pumps in your stomach, these can have negative long term reactions to your belly. Also there is a known parasite called H-pylori, i think is how it’s spelled, that will will cause ulcers by burrowing into your stomach lining, antibiotics will get rid of these,, perhaps the parasite cleans will too. after taking antibiotics tho you want to take probiotic foods or supplements. Smoking, drinking alcohol, and coffee can really upset them, tomatoes do too cause they are high acid content.. anyways sry had to edit and add some more things to this answer. Again, I hope it helps

Q: What are symptoms of a stomach ulcer?
How often do you have stomach pain if you have an uncler? Is it once a day or once per month?
What does the pain like?
A: “The major symptom of an ulcer is a burning or gnawing feeling in the stomach area that lasts between 30 minutes and 3 hours. This pain is often interpreted as heartburn, indigestion or hunger. The pain usually occurs in the upper abdomen, but sometimes it may occur below the breastbone. In some individuals the pain occurs immediately after eating. In other individuals, the pain may not occur until hours after eating. The pain frequently awakens the person at night. Weeks of pain may be followed by weeks of not having pain. Pain can be relieved by drinking milk, eating, resting, or taking antacids.
Appetite and weight loss are other symptoms. Persons with duodenal ulcers may experience weight gain because the persons eats more to ease discomfort. Recurrent vomiting, black stool, blood in the stool and anemia are other symptoms.”
Q: What are the symptoms of an Ulcer? How do you get one?
My stomach has felt like someone has been stick a knife into it. or like something is being ripped out and its connected to a very thin cord. It hurts to lie on my stomach only once in a while though. Or when i am lying on my back in an awkward position. only once in a while. i have a lot of stress right now financially and at home also with school.
A: I know one way you get them is by having too much acid in your stomach for a prolonged period of time cause it burns away your stomach lining. I have acid reflux disease so i’ve been told all my life to be careful of what I eat or i’ll get ulcers
Im not sure if there are any other ways of getting one, and here are some symptoms of an ulcer; http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/tc/peptic-ulcer-disease-topic-overview
Q: What are the symptoms of an ulcer besides a stomach ache?
A: here’s a few: burning, gnawing,or aching in the abdominal area high or low, pain is sometimes better after eating, then back again 2-3 hrs after eating, may wake you from sleep, occurs daily for week or longer, can go away w/out treatment but unlikely-certain types of ulcers can be helped with antacids. symptoms can be vague– reccommend: reduce alchol if you drink, sress relief, also no smoking- if this helps your stomach ache afterwards then u most likely have ulcer and need to follow up with M.D. LUCK!
Q: When u have an ulcer in ur stomach can one of the symptoms be burning when pee?
The doctors already did 5 urine samples and they don’t find anythin in the pee..I’m 12 yrs. old and they said that I may have an ulcer in my stomach plz answer and tell the truth.
A: I’ve never seen that, and I can’t think of any mechanism that would cause that.
If you’re tensing up when you pee, you could be squeezing the contents of your stomach up to where it irritates an ulcer at the top of your stomach, and the burning feels like it’s coming from somewhere else. But that is a stretch.
Chew and swallow a Tums and then pee. If you get the same burning, it is very unlikely to be an ulcer. Tums neutralizes the acid in your stomach, which will make an ulcer temporarily hurt less. If a Tums doesn’t make a difference, you probably don’t have an ulcer.
Try drinking more water to see if that helps. Your urine might be too concentrated, and then it can be irritating.
Are you eating spicy food? That can come out in your pee and be irritating.
Make sure you’re seeing a urologist (a pee specialist), not just your regular doctor.
Try Azo Standard. It is available without a prescription. It will turn your pee funny colors, but it will also be a painkiller for the parts of your body that the pee goes through. If that helps, then it tells you that the pain is coming from the pee. If the pain is coming from an ulcer, Azo won’t have any effect. (Except that it will turn your pee bright red, as well as your underwear.).
Q: Can someone who has a stomache ulcer please describe their symptoms?
I think I have one and I’m going to the doctor next week but some insight would help
Does your pain get better when you eat something? < not always sometimes it's after eating.
Are you having burning sensation (a backwash of acid) waking you up? < YES!
Do you take over the counter antacid pills without sucess? < Yep!
But I don’t drink, I don’t smoke. I do have to take medication every day- at night.
A: Does your pain get better when you eat something? Are you having burning sensation (a backwash of acid waking you up? Do you take over the counter antacid pills without sucess? Ulcers can be caused by a bacteria that could be healed with antibiotics. They can also be caused by stress and poor eating habits. Good luck with the Dr. If, after seeing your physician you are still having problems, I would suggest seeing a gastroenteroligist. Smoking and excessive alchol consumption can also contribute. Hope you feel better soon.
Q: What are the signs and symptoms of a stomach ulcer and what is the best treatment?
A: A stomach or gastric ulcer is a break in the tissue lining the stomach. The term ‘peptic ulcer’ refers to those that occur in either the stomach or the first part of the small intestine that leads out of the stomach, called the duodenum.
The symptoms of a stomach ulcer can include:
Abdominal pain just below the ribcage
Indigestion
Nausea
Loss of appetite
Vomiting
Weight loss
Altered blood present in the vomit or in the bowel motions (occasionally)
Symptoms of anaemia, such as light-headedness.
Treatment options
Special diets are now known to have very little impact on the prevention or treatment of stomach ulcers. Treatment options can include:
Medications – including antibiotics, to destroy the H. pylori colony, and drugs to help speed the healing process. Different drugs need to be used in combination; some of the side effects can include diarrhoea and rashes. Resistance to some of these antibiotics is becoming more common.
Subsequent breath tests – used to make sure the H. pylori infection has been treated successfully.
Changes to existing medications – the doses of arthritis medications, aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs can be altered slightly to reduce their contributing effects on the stomach ulcer.
Reducing acid – tablets are available to reduce the acid content in the gastric juices.
Lifestyle modifications – such as quitting cigarettes, since smoking reduces the natural defences in the stomach and impairs the healing process.

Q: Do my symptoms suggest an ulcer?
I have a mild to moderate burning sensation in my stomach either after I eat, or after exertional activity. When I drink water after the latter, it only worsens the pain. I’m also starting to get a little nauseous. I’ve had these symptoms for a few months now, and over the past few days it seems to have gotten worse. I don’t eat a lot of spicy foods, but I do stress out a lot and I’m wondering if that might be part of the problem. Any thoughts?
A: Those symptoms may suggest a gastric or duodenal ulcer, yes. You should see a doctor ASAP and probably make an endoscopic examination.
Q: I think i may have a stomach ulcer, what are some of the symptoms?
Also, i have a doctors appointment for today, how would they test or figure out if i do or not?
A: nausea, vomiting, fatigue, black stools, stomach pain, cramps, insomnia….
they l probably do a endoscopy.
If you dont have an ulcer do a blood test for h pylori.
Q: my mom has ulcer symptoms, lower back pains and chest pain..help?
hi all i hope this can help..my mom has been having stomach pain or ulcer symptoms..she can eat much only a few bits but she gets hungry every after 2 hours or so and when she doesn’t eat, she gets stomach pains and if she does eat she still gets the stomach pain. a few days ago she also started having chest pain on the left lower part of her breast, she would sometimes cry because of the pain. aside from these she also has lower back pain..pain that sometimes makes her cry. she doesn’t know how to position herself when going to bed or even just sitting down..what does she have?
A: Maybe an ulcer?
Maybe sciatica?
Maybe a breast lump (benign or cancer)?
If she doesn’t have insurance, call the public health department and ask about free or low cost clinics. Also she could apply for financial help at the hospital ER if she goes there.
